Medici Collection

The Medici pen collection pays homage to the family’s powerful influence on art and culture. The pen’s design follows the rules of the Divine Proportion, codified from Leonardo da Vinci under the patronship of the Medici family. The 8-sided pen is made from an innovative Acrosilk material, which weaves together acrylic resin and silk fiber to create a glossy and luminescent wooden color. This material was chosen as a tribute to the ancient luxury materials used in the princely Medici mansions. The palladium-plated ring is chiseled with a symbol of the Medici family.

The Medici were known as an Italian banking family, political dynasty and royal house reigning during the first half of the 15th century in Florence. Along with other powerful families of Italy including the Visconti and Sforza of Milan, they inspired the birth of the Renaissance through their patronage of the arts. They commissioned artists for major works of art including paintings, sculptures and architecture.
